CONSIDERED DESIGN TO IMPROVE TEEN SLEEP
HEALTH & WELLBEING
DIGITAL DESIGN • PRINT DESIGN • CAMPAIGN DEVELOPMENT
Teenage sleep deprivation is on the rise, fuelled by anxiety, school stress, poor diet, and excessive screen time. With the Covid-19 pandemic exacerbating mental health issues, sleep has become a crucial pillar of well-being.
THE CHALLENGE
In response, we partnered with The Sleep Charity to create The Teen Sleep Hub, a platform designed to engage and support teenagers in improving their sleep habits. With funding to enhance mental health resources, we aimed to tackle the challenge of engaging a new, young audience while maintaining brand consistency.
THE SOLUTION
To effectively reach teenagers, we formed a Youth Advisory Panel, consisting of 30 teens, ensuring the platform resonated with its target audience. Initially planned as a constantly updated website, our research revealed that a static site would not maintain teen interest.
Instead, we developed an interactive eBook packed with expert-backed advice, video content, and resources such as meditation podcasts. This downloadable, engaging format was complemented by a comprehensive website with segmented content for teens, parents, schools, and caregivers.
The Teen Sleep Hub has been a resounding success, with over 43,000 eBook downloads, 250 printed packs distributed to schools, and 100,000+ video views since its October 2020 launch.
