Spotlight: Ins & Outs
Building a bright, memorable brand in a crowded market.
Ins & Outs Cleaning & Maintenance sit in a crowded field. Many firms promise speed and quality. Many look and sound alike. From our first conversation with Remi, it was clear the business deserved a brand that felt as bright and proactive as the work on the ground. Our role was to shape that feeling into a clear identity and a website that people could trust at a glance.
We began with discovery. Short interviews. Desk research. A look at competitors and the moments that matter in a client’s journey. We listened for what clients value when they let someone into their home or their workplace. We also looked for the gaps. Places where good companies are let down by a dull tone or a confusing offer. This gave us a simple brief. Stand out without shouting. Feel human and reliable. Move people from interest to booking with less friction.
From there we built the brand themes. Positive. Thorough. Solutions led. These themes guided every choice that followed. Words. Layouts. Colour. Photography. They also shaped how Ins & Outs sound in emails, on forms and on the phone. A brand only works when it connects across the day to day.
The visual identity grows from a clean and optimistic palette. Blue and turquoise with generous white space. It reads as fresh and calm. It signals clarity and care. We introduced arrows as a core device. The shape echoes the name. It also points to progress. Onwards and upwards. The mark is simple, but it works hard. It frames photography. It highlights offers. It adds motion to digital layouts.
Type and spacing do their share of the work. We chose fonts that are warm and legible. We set them with enough breathing room to feel tidy on a busy page. The tone is friendly but precise. It says ‘we know what we are doing, and we will treat your space with respect’. Nothing is fussy. Nothing slows the reader down.
We then brought the system to the website. Structure came first. Clear paths for commercial and residential clients. Fewer clicks to key actions. Quotes and bookings are made easy. Pages use rounded content blocks, which soften the grid and add a human touch. The layout feels modern, but it never gets in the way.
Photography is full of life. Real people. Real spaces. Smiles and small moments that show care. Not just a polished floor, but the relief that comes with a job done well. We placed people at the centre, because the service is personal. You invite a team into your world. You want to feel safe and understood.
To support quick decisions, we designed a full icon suite for core services. Each icon sits neatly within the visual style. They help users scan a page and find what they need at speed. Paired with short copy and plain language, they remove guesswork. The site loads fast, works on any device and meets strong accessibility standards. This is good practice, but it is also good business. A fast and clear site converts more visitors into clients.
The work did not stop at the screen. We created a set of business document templates for daily use. Quotes, invoices, job sheets, reports and email signatures. The team can produce polished materials in minutes. Consistency builds trust. It also saves time, which is precious in an operation that runs at pace.
We also proposed a practical line of merchandise and marketing collateral. Useful items with staying power. Think notepads for site checks. Fridge magnets for call backs. Stickers for equipment logs. Vehicle decals that carry the brand into every street on the route. These pieces support recall. They keep the name close at hand when a problem appears and a quick call is needed.
Throughout the project we worked shoulder to shoulder with Remi. Regular check ins. Quick pilots. Honest feedback. This rhythm kept decisions sharp and grounded in the reality of the workday. It also made sure the brand felt owned by the team, not applied from the outside.
Why does all this matter. Because brand is not decoration. It is a tool that shapes perception and drives behaviour. In a sector where clients can feel unsure, a clear and confident identity removes doubt. It lifts perceived quality. It supports pricing. It helps attract and keep the right team members. It turns a good service into a memorable one.
For Ins & Outs the result is a brand that matches the business they are building. Bright. Positive. Professional. The website tells a clean story and makes action easy. The visual system carries across every touchpoint, from the first search to the final invoice. The collateral helps the name stick, so both commercial and residential clients know who to call when they need help.
This is how design supports growth. It sets expectations before the first visit. It helps the team deliver a consistent experience. It makes marketing more efficient. Most of all, it gives Ins & Outs a distinctive presence in a crowded market. The work feels simple on the surface. Underneath it is careful, practical and built to last.
