It has been over 100 years since the classic 9 to 5 workday and 5 day work week was created, and we are sure that you would agree, a LOT has changed in the world since then!
We have reviewed the findings of our initial trial and have decided to keep this going! We’re going to be operating our 4-day work week through to the end of 2023 and will make a decision as to how we proceed in the new year after looking at our findings.
This is an exciting opportunity for us to explore new ways of working and improve the overall work-life balance for our team. We believe this trial will provide valuable insights into the benefits of a shorter work week, and we are eager to see the positive impact it will have on our team.
There are several reasons why transitioning from a 5-day work week to a 4-day work week can be beneficial for both our team, as well as you, our client.
Reducing the number of workdays can improve well-being and mental health by allowing our team members to have more time to rest and recharge. During a shorter work week, this can lead to increased motivation, productivity, and, most importantly in relation to what we do, creativity.
Additionally, a shorter work week can promote a better work-life balance, giving our team more time for personal pursuits and family responsibilities. This can reduce stress and burnout, leading to a more positive, enthused and engaged work environment.
A four-day work week can also have benefits for clients. With a more rested and motivated team, work quality and focus can improve. Clients can also benefit from increased availability and flexibility, as a four-day work week can allow employees to work longer hours and be more responsive during their working days.
Overall, transitioning to a four-day work week can be a positive change for companies, employees, and clients alike.
How will our work hours change?
We are going to be changing our work hours
FROM Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 5:30pm
TO Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 6:00pm
What do you need to do?
Nothing! We’ll build in our new work hours into project planning – If you have a delivery deadline to hit which falls on a Friday, we will make sure that everything is delivered to you by end of play Thursday. We just ask our clients to be mindful of these work hours and ensure that they have everything they need by close of play Thursday.
Will we be contactable on Fridays?
Our trial will mean we are extending our daily work hours, Monday to Thursday in order to be able to facilitate our clients projects. This means that we will be logging off our emails and phones and taking time to recharge on Fridays.
When will the trial start and end?
In order to get the most out of this trial, we’re operating this for 12 weeks from the week commencing Monday 5th June, meaning this will be our first week, working 4 days – we will not be at our desks on Friday 9th June.
If you have any questions or queries at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for joining and supporting us on this journey of change.
